A letter seeking event support
For NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania, 2016
Dear Friend,
NeighborWorks NEPA is about to go Over The Edge, and we are thrilled to share the exciting news!
Because you are such an esteemed member of NEPA’s business, educational and/or organizational community, we wanted to make sure you knew when and why ORDINARY PEOPLE will soon rappel from the roof of Scranton’s tallest building.
On Saturday June 11, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., up to 92 adventurous people – and, we hope, a large crowd of spectators and cheerleaders – will join us at the Bank Towers building at 321 Spruce St. to show their support for the important, far-reaching cause we simply call HOME. The heroic 92, whom we are now actively recruiting, will agree to raise $1,000 or more apiece for the opportunity to descend 146 feet as part of this grand urban adventure, proceeds of which will help our elderly, disabled and disadvantaged neighbors keep up with or hang onto their homes. Rappellers’ safety, of course will be paramount – read more on overtheedgeusa.com – and we’ll loudly and proudly commend their community commitment.
That’s where you come in. Will you be with us in spirit here? Can you think of a fun person within your organization – maybe it’s you! – who would hop into a harness to support this important cause? We’re hoping our community friends will stand with us not only to help us raise funds but to say, yes, cool things like this CAN work in NEPA, this time in downtown Scranton, where nothing similar has been done before.
You can help in two ways:
1. Register a rappeller or rappelling team on www.crowdrise.com/neighborworksnepa,where you’ll also find full event details. In return, we’ll announce your name and praise your organizational spirit several times throughout event day and thank (and tag) you on social media often. Of course, your organization name can appear with your rappeller/s profiles on our CrowdRise website. (We’ll have lots of media present and cameras galore, we promise!)
2. Support us an event sponsor. Enclosed, please find a description of everything we can offer you, at multiple levels, in return for your much-needed financial support.
