A challenge letter, to participate in an unusual event

Dear Friend,
NeighborWorks NEPA is about to go Over The Edge, and we are thrilled to share the exciting news, particularly with you! We happen to think you are the perfect potential rappeller!
Yes, rappeller!
On Saturday June 11, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., up to 92 adventurous people will rappel from the roof of Scranton’s tallest building, the Bank Towers building at 321 Spruce St., as part of the local celebration of national NeighborWorks Week. There is a method to what some might call madness, and it’s all about the cause called HOME. The heroic 92 will agree to raise $1,000 or more apiece to help our elderly, disabled and disadvantaged neighbors keep up with or hang onto their homes. When they hit the goal, they’ll secure the opportunity to descend 146 feet as part of this grand urban adventure. We’re offering incentives to exceed the goal, including a 25 percent charitable share with a cause of the rappeller’s choice.
We think you’re not only fun, brave and well-known in this community, which is why you are receiving this personal invitation to join our admirable team, but we also know you truly care about our neighborhoods. So can we convince you to hop into a harness?
Rappellers’ safety, of course will be paramount. You’ll wear a full-body industrial harness and be rappelling at what will be treated as an industrial work site, under the watchful eyes of certified expert rope-tenders. You need absolutely no experience to have this much fun!

These donations will help send special-needs rappellers and homeless veterans Over The Edge and pay for summer home-rehab projects for veterans.
